The Nightlife of Sitges

If there is something that Sitges stands out for, it is undoubtedly its nightlife . Listed as one of the best European cities to party, there is a specific place where the night comes to life every weekend: Calle del Pecado .
During the day it is a very quiet road that connects the center of Sitges with the promenade but, when night comes, it transforms. Calle del Pecado, around 11:30 p.m., begins to fill with people wanting to have dinner, have a drink and dance . In addition, its location is perfect: close to the beach and with beautiful views of the Catalan coast.

Sin Street

What is Sin Street and why is it so well known?

The popularity of Calle del Pecado in Sitges is more than evident. Also known as 1 de Mayo Street, it is the most famous area of bars, restaurants and nightlife in Sitges. For those who want to have a good time dancing and having a drink, this area should be a mandatory stop on your route through Catalonia. In addition, it is also the perfect destination for those who want to enjoy a good menu of local cuisine.

Why is it called Sin Street?

The origin of its name is not as morbid as one might imagine. Although the name evokes the red light district of Amsterdam, where sins are displayed in shop windows, or the Montmartre neighborhood of Paris, where the famous Moulin Rouge is located, this street was a reference for the Catalan nightlife in 1956.
It is said that Miquel Utrillo and Antonio Morató were singing in the street when they were reprimanded by law enforcement agents. In response, the painter and artistic promoter asked if it was a sin to sing . As a result of this event, the name survives to this day.

How to get to Calle del Pecado in Sitges

If you want to visit this area of the town, Calle del Pecado is located in the center of Sitges. It is located between Plaza Indústria and Paseo de la Ribera and, if you dare to stop by, you can also access the promenade and the beaches.
It is only 40 kilometers from Barcelona , so getting to Sitges by public transport is very asy, in addition to there being train and bus routes that stop on Calle del Pecado itself. And, if you prefer to get there by car, don't worry, there are several parking areas available where you can park your vehicle without any problem.

Sin Street has infinite possibilities . The range of bars, restaurants and nightclubs is wide and suitable for all tastes.
